Peter Lachman leads on quality and patient safety programs the RCPI. He works with HSE Global in Africa. He was Chief Executive Officer ISQua from 2016 to 2021. Previously he was a Health Foundation Quality Improvement Fellow at IHI in 2005-2006. He was Deputy Medical Director (Patient Safety) at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Consultant Pediatrician at the Royal Free Hospital in London specializing long term conditions for children prior to commencing at ISQua. He is an editor of the OUP Handbook on Patient Safety OUP Handbook on Medical Leadership and Management and the forthcoming OUP Handbook on Quality Improvement.

Dr. Musa Taha Ajlouni is a part-time senior consultant and technical advisor in health systems development for WHO/EMRO and other international and local healthcare organizations, and he is a member and senior advisor at the Jordanian Public Health Forum and MENA Health Policy Forum. 

He has Ph.D. in Health Management, Master degree in Hospital Management, and Master degree in Health Planning. 

He served at Jordanian Royal Medical Services for 30 years and was retired as Major General. He served after retirement as a university professor in hospital management for 15 years.

Ms. Doris Youngs is a distinguished public health practitioner and development professional. She has more than 25 years of senior and executive experience managing the on-ground execution and global operations of multi-million USAID health programs. Her visionary guidance has spanned across 60 nations throughout Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. Ms. Youngs’ extensive experience is concentrated on the provision of equitable and holistic Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, and Nutrition services, with a strong emphasis on community engagement and mobilization. She currently serves as the Chief of Party for USAID’s Community Health and Nutrition Project, as well as the Country Representative for FHI 360 in Jordan. In that role, she leads a team of experts in designing and implementing accessible maternal nutrition services by strengthening health systems and linking them with grass root community networks. Her dedication to improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations has earned her a reputation as a thought leader and innovator in her field with a focus on locally inspired solutions and interventions.

Dr. Sameen Siddiqi

Dr Siddiqi worked for WHO for 16 years and was the Director, Health System Development covering the Eastern Mediterranean Region. He spearheaded the work on universal health coverage. He has served as WHO’s Representative to Lebanon and Iran, and also worked for the World Bank prior to joining WHO. 

Dr Siddiqi has a fellowship in internal medicine, and master’s degree, fellowship and doctoral degree in public health. For three decades he has advised L&MICs on strengthening health systems, and has special interest in health system governance, private health sector, public private partnership and quality and safety of care.  

Dr Siddiqi is the lead editor of a recently published and highly acclaimed book on health systems for L&MICs, has over 100 publications, is on the editorial board and reviewer of several international journals, and serves on the Quality Committee of the WHO’s Global Academy.

Dr Hassan Salah

Dr Hassan Salah is formal WHO PHC Advisor and Team Lead of the Access to Health Services Unit. He is an MD and MPH holder from Harvard School of Public Health.  

Dr Salah has inspired the “Family Practice” concept in the EM Region. He published the first book on the topic in a joint collaboration between the WHO and World Organization of Family Doctors http://applications.emro.who.int/docs/9781138498587-eng.pdf  

In a practical response to the global pandemic, and in joint collaboration with PHC partners; UNAIDS, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNICEF and WONCA, Dr Salah led the most successful Regional Health Alliance experience, in design, launch and marketing of the online training on PHC Practice in the Context of COVID-19, https://covid.emro.who.int . More than 100,000 PHC physicians have registered for the training in 2021/22.

Dr. Jamela Al-Raiby

Dr. Jamela AL-RAIBY was appointed as WHO Representative to Jordan on 7 November 2021. Dr Al- RAIBY is a pediatrician with 30 years’ experience in public health, health policy and management. Dr AL-RAIBY served as the Regional Advisor for Child and Adolescent Health from 2015 to 2021, and Medical Officer for Sexual, Reproductive and Maternal Health from 2012 to 2015 at WHO’s Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean. She served as Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population from 2008 to 2012 and General Director of Women’s Health Affairs from 2004 to 2008 at the Ministry of Public Health and Population in Yemen. Dr AL-RAIBY holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery, a master’s degree in pediatric, endocrinology and a master’s degree in public administration. Early on in her career, she worked as a pediatric consultant from 1999 to 2004, and a family physician from 1992 to 1994 in primary health care.

She has actively contributed to the development of WHO technical guidelines and research and authored/co-authored several regional and global level technical publications. Dr AL-RAIBY has had various functions throughout her career, including support to sexual, reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health, leading multi-stakeholder policy dialogue for equitable and quality health service strategies with a focus on universal health coverage. She is a strong advocate for equity, women and youth rights and engagement through building national capacities. Her professional aspiration is to promote global health and development of effective partnerships towards peace and sustainable development.

Sonia comes with 30 years of experience in health and social care internationally as a clinician, in senior hospital management, and in sustainability. Dr. Qamra Al Sariri

Dr. Qamra Al Sariri is a public health Senior consultant  specialized in Quality management and policy research with more than 20 years experience between primary health care and tertiary care in utilization, quality, and health care management. 

As a former hospital director, she assisted managed care organizations in providing cost-effective and quality patient care. With an additional 8 years as a leader in continuing professional education, as a director of Planning in DGHS Muscat and a member at CPD OMSB, she places a high value on effective education, coaching, and development of healthcare professionals.  

She works with healthcare, education, and other organizations to improve professional practice and patient outcomes. As a certified professional in healthcare quality and policy research, she has frequently invited speaker at healthcare forums and work as a member in several national committees. Dr. Anas Almohtaseb

Dr. Anas Almohtaseb holds the bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery (2008), the Higher Specialization in Family Medicine (2013), Higher Diploma in Global Challenges and Leadership – track of public health (2018), all from the University of Jordan. He also got the Master of Science degree in health economics from the University of York at the United Kingdom in 2017. 

Since January 2022, Dr. Anas has been assigned as the director of NCD Directorate at the MOH. Before that, he worked for 4 years as a family physician at MOH Primary Health Care centers, and as a part-time health economist at the High Health Council.  

Dr. Anas has a research interest in the fields of health economics, health policy, and evidence-based medicine. He is a member of several committees and projects related to health economics and health financing at the Ministry of Health. Nisreen Qatamish

As a leader in the development sectors, Nisreen Qatamish was appointed in 2016 as Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), the largest community-based organization in Jordan dedicated to combating cancer. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing KHCF’s fundraising and development efforts, driving global advocacy programs, raising public awareness on early detection and prevention, as well as cancer coverage and patient support.

Dr Imad Treish

Dr. Imad Treish is the Chief Strategy Officer for the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC). In this capacity, he is responsible for the development and implementation of KHCC’s strategic plan, and for overseeing major strategic initiatives at KHCC.  These include local and regional outreach, and advancing KHCC’s clinical computing platforms to improve clinical outcomes, decrease resource utilization, increase patient satisfaction, and ensure seamless integration with other platforms. Dr. Treish lead the strategy group that established KHCC’s Artificial Intelligence and Data Innovation (AIDI) Office, a first of its kind body in the Jordanian Healthcare sector  Dr. Treish obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina (UNC) in 1999 and completed his residency in Hematology/Oncology from UNC in 2000.

Dr. Safaa Muneer Al-Oran is the Director of the Institutional Development and Quality Control Directorate at the Ministry of Health. She holds certifications in quality assessment and institutional excellence from the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). She is also a certified innovation management professional from the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIMI). Dr. Al-Oran is an accredited trainer by the United States Agency for International Development  (USAID) in quality and patient safety. Dr. Dowiri is a catalyst for quality and excellence in health care who has a dynamic leadership and unwavering commitment to raising the bar of healthcare standards in Jordan, with 25 years of experience in enhancing quality systems, patient safety, crisis management, governance, and accountability. As a former Director of the Institutional Development and Quality Control Directorate at MOH and a certified senior surveyor at the Health Care Accreditation Center, he ensured substantial, positive contributions to the development and improvement of Jordan’s health system, which has witnessed qualitative improvement in recent years.  He serves as RMNCH Clinical QI Advisor for Health Service Quality Accelerator leading the quality improvement team to build the RMNCH quality governance system in Jordan’s public sector.

Dr. Raja Khater

Dr. Raja Khater: is a pediatrician, bringing with her 27 years of clinical experience in both public and private healthcare sectors. With nearly two decades dedicated to developing and implementing quality programs, she has also been actively involved in project management, design, implementation, and evaluation of health-related initiatives. Moreover, Dr. Khater is a Certified Healthcare Risk Manager (CHRM), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), one of the national Surveyors certified by the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) and Approved Assessor in The King Abdullah II Excellence Awards 

Her journey with the Health Care Accreditation Council commenced at its inception, and she successfully met accreditation criteria as an evaluator for healthcare institutions in November 2008. Since then, Dr. Khater has played an integral role in evaluating hospitals, healthcare centers, and breast imaging units. She has significantly contributed to policy formulation, procedural development, provision of guidance materials, and the training of healthcare staff in quality principles, excellence, and risk management. 

Dr. Khater currently serves as the Senior Service Delivery Advisor Team Lead at University Research Co, where she leverages her expertise in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH) to drive innovative quality improvement and health system strengthening across various levels of care. She spearheads the integration of best practices into public healthcare services, playing a key role in coordinating the development of a nationwide maternal and perinatal surveillance system, with a specific focus on reducing maternal and perinatal mortality rates in Jordan.

Ms. Heba is a highly qualified and certified health care consultant. She has a nursing bachelor’s degree from the University of Jordan and a master’s degree in health services management from Yarmouk University. In 2020, she obtained her professional diploma in quality management of health care. She has worked in Istishari hospital as a clinical audit specialist for 5 years. Now, she is a senior technical officer in USAID Health Services Quality Accelerator and she plays a major role in improving quality of RMNCH services.

Ms. Rozalien Gablan Mohammad Ayed RN, HCRM, HCQP, EFQM assessor, HCCAC Senior technical officer, USAID Health Services Quality Accelerator, rayed@urc-chs.com  

Ms. Rozalien experienced accreditation consultant, quality management, Risk Management and excellence, with 23 years’ experience in health care in quality management and risk management, working on build quality and patient safety culture and enhance knowledge regards quality concepts among healthcare professionals, and establish a comprehensive risk management program. Ms. Rozalien has passion in coaching, capacities and skills building, motivation for Individual and teams and create productive and fruitful relationships through effective communication with others. has MSC degree in health services administration from Al Yarmouk university she serves as RMNCH senior technical officer for Health Service Quality Accelerator as a part of the quality improvement team to build the RMNCH quality governance system in Jordan’s public sector.
