Dr. Ibrahim Aqel

director of the Institute for Family Health / King Hussein Foundation

Dr. Ibrahim Aqel, is an ISQua expert currently working as the director of the Institute for Family Health / King Hussein Foundation. Dr. Aqel is a regional expert in issues of social protection, population and development, public health, sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence. He has contributed to the development of many health strategies in Jordan and the Arab region, including the Arab Multi-Sector Strategic Plan for maternal, child and adolescent health, the Jordanian Ministry of Health's strategic plan for the years 2008-2012 and 2013-2017, Jordan's national population strategy 2021-2030 and the Jordan National Sexual Reproductive Health 2020-2030. He has also served as an assistant professor at University of Petra and vice dean of international programs at Luminus Technical University. He also worked as a consultant to various international organizations and projects such as UNFPA, ILO, IOM, and USAID.

Dr. Aqel is a member of the MENA Health Policy Forum with nearly twenty-five years of practical, training, educational, advisory, and project management experience. He is a consultant and a surveyor at the Health Care Accreditation council HCAC and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Public Health Forum of Jordan, a member of the International Management Consultants association IMC, member of the International Association for People & Performance Development IAPPD, and Vice President of the Jordan National Protection Team GBV
