Associate Professor Kathy Eljiz is a teacher and researcher at the Australian Institute of Health Service Management (AIHSM), Tasmanian School of Business and Economics, University of Tasmania, Australia. Kathy’s teaching expertise and research interests are in the field of health system improvement. Kathy has specific skills and experience in knowledge translation, organisational development and health system improvement. Kathy’s main interest is working to close the theory-practice gap and improve the organisation and management of healthcare. Kathy has overseen over 300 Masters translational research projects, and directly supervised 147 projects across a range of categories, including change management, organisational behaviour, operations management, health system improvement, and leadership. Kathy’s translational research approach focuses on both academic rigour and industry outcomes leading to improvement strategies and recommendations, and ongoing research projects.
